Denizen Acquires Mero Concepts, Deepening Our Austin Presence

Denizen has acquired Mero Concepts, the Austin area home technology integrator founded by Marc Oliveri in 2013. Marc joins Denizen along with his team, strengthening our Texas operations and adding thirteen years of Greater Austin project experience to the company.
A pattern, not a one off
This is the third integrator to join Denizen, and each one followed the same logic.
Our roots go back six decades in the Midwest, where the company operated as Echo Systems before rebranding to Denizen to bring an expanding operation under one identity. I
n 2019 we acquired Integrated Electronics. In 2021 we added Dallas Sight and Sound, which opened Texas to us. Mero Concepts is the natural next step.
We do not buy companies for their client lists. We look for teams whose standards already match ours, in markets where we want people on the ground rather than on a plane.
Mero cleared that bar early. The conversation with Marc ran more than three years before either side was ready to move, which tells you something about how both companies approach a commitment.
Today Denizen operates from four offices, in Omaha, Kansas City, Dallas, and Austin, and delivers projects across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, Texas, and beyond.
Why Mero Concepts
Marc Oliveri spent a decade at Apple before founding Mero Concepts, and that background shows in the work. He came into this industry with a conviction that the experience surrounding the technology matters more than the spec sheet, and he built a company around it.
Mero has spent thirteen years serving homes in Cedar Park, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Tarrytown, and across the Greater Austin area, with a service reputation that is difficult to build and easy to lose.
Their installers are CEDIA trained on every product they specify. Their design philosophy starts with how a family lives and works backward to the equipment, which is exactly how our own design and engineering teams approach a project.
Marc, Charles, and Aaron are all continuing with Denizen. Mero's existing clients keep the same team, the same phone numbers, and the same service standards, now backed by our full support infrastructure.
What Denizen brings to the Austin market
Austin homeowners and their builders, architects, and designers now have access to the full Denizen capability set.
Environment. Lighting design, tunable white systems, motorized shades, and climate control that work together instead of fighting each other. Shade automation in particular has become one of the highest impact upgrades in the Texas market for reasons anyone who has faced a west wall in August understands.
Entertainment. Dedicated theaters, media rooms, and whole home audio systems engineered for the actual room rather than dropped into it. Our Dallas team has been delivering home theater installation across North Texas since 2021, and that expertise now extends further south.
Convenience. Unified control across every subsystem in the home, delivered through interfaces a guest can operate without instructions. Robust networking underneath, because none of it works without that.
Security. Surveillance, access control, and monitoring integrated into the same platform as everything else.
Behind all four: in house engineering and design, a documented commissioning process, and 24/7/365 support.
Credentials that back the work
Denizen is a Premiere member of the Guild Integrators Alliance, a CEDIA certified integrator, HTA certified through the Home Technology Association, and a member of HTSA.
Those affiliations are not decoration. HTA certification in particular requires independent verification of financial stability, insurance, service capability, and client references, which is worth asking about when you evaluate any home technology integrator.
What this means depending on who you are
If you are a current Mero Concepts client: nothing about your system changes. Your programming, your equipment, and your service relationship carry forward. What changes is the depth of the team behind them and the speed with which someone can respond.
If you are an Austin homeowner planning a project: you now have a local team with over a decade of market specific experience, supported by a company that handles new construction, historic rewires, and multi property portfolios across seven states.
If you are a builder, architect, or designer: you get a single integration partner across Omaha, Kansas City, Dallas, and Austin, with consistent documentation, consistent commissioning, and one point of accountability across markets.
If you are a client in Omaha, Kansas City, or Dallas: nothing about your service changes, and the talent pool available to your project grows.
Looking ahead
Denizen exists because a home should respond to the people in it rather than the other way around. Every market we enter, we enter by adding people who already believe that, not by planting a flag and hiring later.
Marc and the Mero Concepts team believed it before we met them. We are glad they are here.
